Diagon Alley Gallery:
Diagon Alley is the center of wizarding London from the Harry Potter movie and novels. It is a magic place located behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron.
The tour takes you through the real thing! The details within the shop windows are amazing. Just like the movie although they widened the street so that more tourists could walk through comfortably. It is extremely unique and you definitely feel part of the wizardverse.
We have been to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios in Orlando, which is great! However, nothing can top being in the actual set the film was shot in. Universal gets it right in a lot of ways, but looking into the window and seeing the level of detail that mirror the film is incredible.
For us, this was one of the best parts of the tour second only to maybe Hogwarts Castle at the end of the tour. Take your time as you walk through Diagon Alley and don’t rush. You really will want to take in all of the details. Be sure to look at all the details inside Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, as that is probably the largest interior of all the storefronts. The one advantage of Universal Studios version is that you can actually go inside of many of them. Here, there are strictly storefronts as the interior filming occurred on separate sound stages.
Once again the lighting used to light this set is amazing and adds a substantial amount of ambience to the alley. The only negative I can point out with this portion of the tour are the railings. While I understand the need to keep the public on the path, they do detract from the realism of the set.
